You know it’s important when Moneybgs Mom puts her reading glasses on and sits in a chair. It may be hard to hear this sordid tale, but it has to be told. Moneybags can only hope that Kai will forgive her…someday. Remember folks, this is a work of fiction…any resemblence to real persons or situations is just a coincidence. It is in the comedy category, after all.
Pet Shop Boys – The End Of The World Floods of tears and doors slamming Stamping feet across the landing Because of your obligation To stay home and fight Sitting down to a composition Test the limits of your inhibition If the phone hasn’t rung by midnight It’s over tonight If someone tried, you’d realise It’s just a boy or a girl It’s not the end of the world Piles of toast and broken promises Among the books and pens and reading glasses It seems there’s no escape from the humdrum It’s over and done If someone tried, you’d realise It’s just a boy or a girl It’s not the end of the world If someone cried, you’d sympathise It’s just a boy or a girl It’s not the end of the world At midnight in desperation Imagine total teenage destruction The Prophets all predicted extinction The Virgin spoke in apparitions And if it all came to pass now You feel we’d all deserve it somehow But if someone tried (you’d realise) You’d realise (and sympathise) It’s just a boy or a girl It’s not the end of the world If someone cried (you’d sympathise) You’d sympathise (and realise) It’s just a boy or a girl It’s not the end of the world It’s not the end
This is a traditional fingerstyle blues guitar instrumental. Guitar versions are quite common on youtube, but very few uke arrangements. Mine is influenced by Stefan Grossman’s great rendition. I’ve changed key to squeeze it onto the ukulele fretboard in standard tuning (re-entrant C). I’m playing an Anuenue Papa I long neck soprano with Worth fluorocarbon strings. (The shades are actually +3 diopter reading glasses so my aging eyes can see those tiny frets :- )
Herzig-Eye.com As a person ages, the natural lens stops functioning, usually by the age of 45, people need reading glasses. And what that means is that the lens inside their eye is no longer doing the work it was doing when they were younger. With laser vision correction, either Lasik or PRK, patients are offered monovision. Monovision means that one of their eyes is fully corrected for distance, while the non-dominant eye is left a little under-corrected, leaving some nearsightedness in that eye, so that eye can continue to read. We also have, with Refractive Lens Exchange, the option of putting in a lens that can correct both distance and reading vision. The most common lens that we use is called a Multifocal Lens and this lens gives excellent distance vision and reading vision in both eyes. There is also an Accommodative Intraocular Lens. This is a technology thats still in transition and while it can provide some reading vision for some patients, it doesnt do so as consistently as the Multifocal Lens.

The Himalayan Cataract Project www.cureblindness.org coordinated an eye care intervention in Koraro, Ethiopia, in late-April 2008 in partnership with the Millennium Villages Project. During the intervention in the research village of Koraro, Ethiopia, the team examined 3650 people, provided 129 cataract surgeries, pterygia surgeries and over 100 trichiasis surgeries for trachoma. In addition, the entire village received a mass treatment of Zithromax for trachoma, reading glasses were distributed and Vitamin A was provided. The exams revealed a high incidence of Trachoma and blindness from Trachoma, significant vitamin A deficiency and many people who were blind from cataracts. St. Louis Cataract Surgery | Pepose Vision Institute Crystalens ® at Pepose Vision Institute – See near, far and in between — Crystalens is an intraocular lens implant that provides a continuous range of near, intermediate and distance vision. It’s designed to duplicate the functioning of your natural lens. It reduces or eliminates the need for bifocals and reading glasses. It works naturally with your eyes’ muscles, giving you the quality of vision you enjoyed when you were younger. In FDA-supervised trials, 98% of patients who received Crystalens could perform near tasks and see at-distance without glasses, and 100% could function adequately at computer distance without glasses.
